We are all about improving the lives of Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers and their crosses in need of help.


We do this by providing rescue, foster care, education, training support, and adoption into safe and loving homes. Our work involves but is not limited to advertising, marketing, transporting, feeding, vet work, medical care, and temporary kenneling, fostering or homing.


QSAR needs all the help we can get, so if you are a staffy lover, or just an animal lover in general, we would certainly appreciate your help.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO RESCUE A DOG?


There is a lot involved in saving just one staffy.

Check out what might be involved in rescuing a dog.

TRANSPORT

One of our volunteers will head out in the car and pickup our new rescue from the home or shelter.

SHELTER FEES

Even though we are a rescue organisation we often still have to pay fees to get our rescues from the shelters

DESEXING

We desex all our rescues and attend to any other surgery or treatment that might be needed. 

VET ASSESSMENT

All our rescues are vet checked, tested for heart worm, vaccinated and microchipped. 

ADVERTISING

Unfortunately we don't have a long list of adopters for our staffies so promoting our adoptees is an ongoing cost

Our dedicated army of foster volunteers gives our new rescue a loving home until a more permanent one is found

MONTHLY PREVENTITIVES

Once our rescue dogs are in foster care of course we still have all the ongoing monthly flea, tick and worming preventitives.

EXTRA EXPENSES

There are so many other costs that may be incurred with getting a dog from the shelter to a home. Intensive training, heartworm treatment or other surgeries or vet expenses.

WHAT DO I NEED TO ADOPT A DOG?

WHAT DO I NEED TO ADOPT A DOG?

You must be over 18 to adopt. Families are encouraged but the main adopter must be over 18

You must be set up to keep a dog safe, including secure fencing and gates

Renters can adopt but must be approved

Renters can adopt, however you must be pre-approved in writing before applying.

Saving for your dogs future

You must be prepared that pet ownership is also a financial commitment.
